I was the Property Manager on an affordable housing property of 176 apartments during an extensive rehab project. I had to work with multiple contractors throughout the entire 1 1/2 of the project and I have to say that Considerate Contracting was by far the most efficient and easiest to work with. We had a contractor that failed to do their job and at the last minute Considerate Contracting not only completed the work we already had contracted them for but also picked up and completed the failed contractors work as well. This company has earned their name on multiple occasions. They took my staff and all my tenants into consideration while completing their job and communicated the entire time they were on the property working, which is something a lot of contractors don’t do. The generosity and respect they give to their own employees blew me away and they extended that same courtesy to my staff and myself. They even went out of their way to assist us with a couple projects that not only were they not contracted for but was a time crunch for them and they still completed the projects flawlessly. Even after the project was completed and I relocated to another property they reached out to me and sent me a lovely Thank You card and gift, if that is not considerate I don’t know what is. I would gladly work with this company anytime, I always give out their information when I get asked for suggestions on contractors.

I’ve had generally poor experiences with contractors, which made my experience with Considerate Contracting & Design so surprising and welcome. I had a couple of last minute projects pop up as I raced to list my home for sale. I got lucky that CCD had a project cancel so had availability.

• They were super responsive to my initial inquiry and subsequent communications
• They provided a detailed quote
• Everything was done on budget, on time and with great results
• But the biggest thing… I needed to replace seven interior doors. I was initially going to try to install them myself but the delivery of the doors got delayed by several weeks, which in hindsight was serendipitous b/c it ended up being harder than I anticipated. Anyhow, the CCD guy (and his son) came out and discovered I’d purchased the wrong type of door (I got pre-hung doors when I needed to buy just the door slabs). Instead of sticking me with the problem, which would’ve been a nightmare because I could only fit two of the doors in my car at once, he offered to take the doors back to Lowe’s, buy the new doors and then come back the next day to install them. I can’t describe how much stress this helped alleviate. I’m still kind of stunned at the generosity considering my experiences with other contractors.

I have been a property maintenance manager for over 20 years. During my career I have hired a lot of contractors to work on the apartment buildings I have managed. In 2006 I hired Tom Lyman to repair a trellis that was broken by a uhaul truck. Ever since then, he has been my number 1 choice for all repairs both big and small. His response time and customer service is far beyond any other Contractor I have ever hired, and his pricing has always been the same or better. I have hired him on over 30 projects since then ranging from 10k to 3mil, and regardless of size, day of the week, or time of day, he has always taken my call and promptly addressed the needs of my properties. The projects have varied from full interior renovations, strip and reclad of exteriors, water and fire damage, insurance repairs, landscaping, plaza, leasing areas, clubhouse remodels, and more. I have never regretted hiring him on any of my jobs and I would refer him to anyone that needs a general contractor.
